Worship Resources

Here is a list of the resources I commonly use for planning worship, finding music or any of the hundreds of other things I accomplish in a week.

Worship Planning

Planning Center OnlineThis is the best way to schedule and plan worship services out there. There are tons of features that I love but two that really excite me right now: Automatic email reminders (sent to scheduled people so they don’t forget!) and the new Stage Layout feature (You can map out the location of everyone on stage – how cool is that!) A new feature they recently added is the “Community” section, where you can see what other songs people are using and it will now recommend related songs to the ones you are using. Another tool to discover other great songs out there.

Music

Christian Copyright Licensing International (CCLI)The license is important, but the SongSelect feature is really nice. It’s a great tool for finding and downloading harmony parts for most of the worship songs out there.

Culture

iTunes Music Store – If you want to stay current with what is popular across the whole spectrum of music, check out the top 100 lists of the most downloaded songs. The lists are not the same as you might find on Billboard.com or on the Top 20 countdowns because these are the songs that people are downloading. While most might also be on the Top 20 lists, you’ll also find songs that, for whatever reason, are popular right now (Often they are featured in a movie or on TV).
